Whether you live alone in a cosy pied-à-terre,
or surrounded by children and pets in a family
size house, space is at a premium.
Almost all of us accumulate more clutter than is good for us, and
keeping your home clean and tidy can be a
real headache.
Bedrooms are a particular problem.
If you have your room to yourself, your problems
are limited to finding sufficient space to
house your year-round clothing (all the heavy
jumpers and jackets we need for winter, plus all the light and bright
clothing for our new, longer, hotter summers) and shoes.
If you share your room with a partner, the problem
is doubled, and basic consideration demands
that you each make some effort to tidy away
your things, rather than leaving them strewn across the
floor.
When it comes to children, the piles of clothes,
dirty and clean, can seem endless. Add the inevitable
mayhem of stray toys lying around their rooms, and
the chances of maintaining order are slim.
Though wardrobes and chests of drawers are always
excellent investments, underbed drawers, which
wheel in and out underneath your bed, are a revelation!
A standard double bed has an average of 20 cubic
feet of usable space underneath it. While most
of us throw shoes and suitcases into this void,
its usability is greatly enhanced by drawers, which
can be wheeled out to locate that particular pair
of shoes, then wheeled back to tidy up the look
of the room.
Our handmade underbed drawers have durable wheels
fitted to the underside and can be finished to
match your bed perfectly.
Underbed drawers come in two sizes:
Regular and Large.
Regular drawers are 36.5" wide x 9" high x 24" (front-to-back)
deep.
Large drawers are 51" wide x 9" high
x 24" (front-to-back) deep.
If you own a single bed (right) you'll be able
to fit two regular drawers side
by side along the length of any of our
beds. If you have a bedside chest or table
preventing a drawer from being wheeled
in and out at the top end of your bed,
however, a single large drawer will fit
in the remaining space.
If you own a double bed (below), you will be able
to accommodate four regular drawers, with
two placed side by side under the bed on
each side. If you have bedside furniture
on one or both sides of your double bed,
you will be able to accommodate one large
drawer on each side of the bed on which
there's also a chest or table.
