This is a stunningly romantic bed, based on a 16th century French rustic design. If you're lucky enough to have a bedroom with good natural light, the Breton Bed gives you a really lovely feel of rural France. If you order it painted in buttermilk or eaudenil, or finished in clear beeswax, the Breton always looks fresh and airy and very contemporary. If you go for the oak lacquer or antique wax, on the other hand, it really accentuates the rustic references. Because it's character can be changed quite significantly by the finish, the Breton is as popular with customers who live in contemporary apartments as it is with people in period houses and properties with more traditional decor.

What people say
"The Breton bed we bought is just lovely. The panelling detail in the headboard gives it a very reassuring look - it's rather a serious bed! I think the Oak Lacquer finish adds to that effect, too. Anyway, it looks absolutely beautiful and I'm thrilled with it.
We bought a Super King Size because we're in a converted granary and have a decent sized space. And I like to spread out when I’m in bed. We also treated ourselves to the Taurus Natural Luxury Pocket 1000 mattress, which is extra firm. It's just magnificent. Honestly. I don't think I've ever slept on as nice a mattress, or slept so well. It's not a cheap mattress, but I teach Alexander Technique and my back matters to me a lot!
It had been 11 years since we'd bought our previous bed, so we did splash out a bit... but I think it's been a fantastic buy. And with a lot of sites and shops we'd have spent a lot more than we did."
